Mission San Juan Capistrano played an important part in the settling of Orange County. First founded in October 1775 it was quickly abandoned due to an Indian attack on Mission San Diego. A year later the mission was rededicated on November 1, 1776. The mission is known for the returning flight of the swallows, although you don't see many around. Growing up in Orange County, I have visited this mission a number of times. This was the second time that I came to take pictures (the other was 15 years earlier). It was an overcast day, but it added some a nice mood of the pictures.
